Serving All of Pennsylvania

Online Therapy

Licensed therapists available by secure video — from anywhere in the state. Most insurance accepted.

Cornerstone Therapy & Wellness provides online therapy throughout Pennsylvania for individuals, couples, teens, adolescents, and families. Our licensed therapists serve clients across Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Allentown, Lancaster, Erie, Scranton, Reading, York, and communities statewide through secure teletherapy sessions.

As of January 2026, Pennsylvania law requires most insurance plans to cover telehealth services at the same rate as in-person care. More Pennsylvania residents than ever can now access online therapy using their existing insurance benefits.

How Online Therapy Works

Online therapy connects you with a licensed therapist through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You meet directly with a licensed therapist using the same evidence-based approaches found in traditional in-person counseling. Appointments typically last 45 to 60 minutes and remain fully confidential.

To participate, you need a private space, reliable internet access, and a device with a camera and microphone. Our team helps ensure your sessions continue smoothly if any technical issues arise.

Our licensed clinicians include psychologists, licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), licensed professional counselors (LPCs), and licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs). They use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR therapy, exposure-based treatment, and other skills-based strategies depending on your needs.

Who Can Benefit from Online Therapy

Online therapy supports a wide range of mental health concerns for adults, teens, and adolescents. Our clinicians commonly work with individuals experiencing:

Anxiety & Worry

Anxiety disorders, panic attacks, health anxiety, and chronic worry.

Depression

Low mood, loss of motivation, and persistent feelings of sadness.

Trauma & PTSD

Trauma processing and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder using EMDR and TF-CBT.

OCD

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder treated with evidence-based Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Teen & Adolescent Concerns

School anxiety, mood changes, social stress, and school avoidance.

Relationships & Life Transitions

Couples therapy, parenting challenges, grief, loss, and stress or burnout.

Benefits of Online Therapy for PA Residents

Many individuals choose online therapy because it removes barriers that make in-person care difficult. Research shows online therapy for anxiety and depression can be just as effective as in-person treatment when licensed clinicians provide it.

  • Connect from anywhere in Pennsylvania without commuting
  • Access therapy from home, work, or any private space
  • Build flexible schedules around school and work commitments
  • Attend more consistent sessions with fewer cancellations
  • Receive care in a comfortable, familiar environment
  • Access specialized care even in rural Pennsylvania communities

How Online Therapy at Cornerstone Is Different

Many national online therapy platforms rely on automated therapist-matching systems. At Cornerstone Therapy & Wellness, our care coordination team takes time to understand your concerns and determines whether teletherapy is the right fit before matching you with a clinician.

Personalized Matching

We pair each client with a therapist based on clinical needs — not an algorithm.

Coordinated Care

Our licensed clinicians coordinate across psychiatry, testing, biofeedback, and nutrition when needed.

One Established Clinic

Every clinician practices within one connected practice — not a gig-economy platform.

Insurance Coverage for Online Therapy

We accept most major insurance plans for online therapy. Our administrative team helps you verify your insurance coverage, understand fees and payment options, and schedule your first teletherapy appointment. Self-pay options are also available.

Cornerstone Therapy & Wellness serves online therapy clients throughout Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Allentown, Lancaster, Erie, Scranton, Reading, and York. In-person care is available at our Malvern (Chester County) and Wayne (Delaware County) offices on the Main Line.

Online Therapy FAQs

What do I need for an online therapy session?

You need a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone. Most sessions feel very similar to in-person therapy, except that you join from your own environment.

How do I know whether online therapy is a good fit for me?

Online therapy works well for many people, especially those seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, stress, or life transitions. It can also be a good option for teens and adults who want more flexibility or who prefer meeting from home. During the intake process, our team helps determine whether teletherapy is the right fit for your needs.

Are there services I cannot access online?

Biofeedback and HRV training and psychological testing require in-person sessions. Biofeedback involves sensor-based equipment that measures physiological responses, which cannot be replicated through video. Psychological testing requires standardized, supervised administration that must take place in the office. Both services are available at our Malvern and Wayne locations.

Can I switch from online therapy to in-person sessions?

Yes. Many clients start with online therapy and transition to in-person care at our Malvern or Wayne offices when it makes sense clinically or logistically. Our team makes that transition straightforward — you keep the same therapist and continuity of care.

What happens if I have technical issues during a session?

If technical problems come up, our team works with you to help the session continue as smoothly as possible. In many cases, small connection issues can be resolved quickly so treatment stays consistent.

How is Cornerstone different from national online therapy platforms?

Unlike large national platforms that rely on automated matching, our intake team takes time to understand your concerns and help match you with a clinician based on your needs. That more personal process often leads to a better fit and more coordinated care. When helpful, clients can also access psychiatry, psychological testing, biofeedback, or nutritional counseling through the same practice.

How do I get started with online therapy?

Getting started is simple. Contact our intake team, ask questions about availability or insurance, and schedule your first appointment. We will help guide you through the process and match you with the right clinician.
