Full disclosure, I don’t really read blogs. I am usually a few paces behind the technology curve and am slow to see the value in “newfangled” approaches. However, as a mother of 3 and a psychotherapist, I am often asked parenting questions. They are good questions, ones we all contemplate at one point or another. I guess that’s where blog come in hand – a convenient avenue for sharing questions and answers with a wide audience. That being said, I do not claim to have all the answers. What I do have is some learned and intuitive knowledge and most importantly a distant, objective perspective. I do not always practice what I preach – my children will attest to that. Most certainly, one size does not fit all and many of my thoughts may be controversial. However, if it gets you thinking that the first step. When my patients feel overwhelmed and at wits -end I assure them that thinking about, challenging, and prioritizing parenting is the first step to success.
