MICHELLE PERNA, LPC

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I’ve helped many adolescents, adults, and families by providing a safe non-judgmental environment where they feel empowered to create change. I utilize a person-centered approach, as I value the importance of being authentic, as well as empathetic to my clients’ challenges and stressors of life. I believe the client is the expert, and the role of the therapist is to guide while the client draws on their own interpersonal strengths to reach their full potential, in addition to identifying tangible goals and solutions. I additionally draw from other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Integrative Therapy. I also use Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My clinical experience is in the areas of depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relational conflict, peer issues, family systems, addiction, criminal justice, anger management, eating disorders/body image, and mood disorders. I have worked in outpatient, Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and residential treatment settings. I graduated from La Salle University with my Master’s in Professional Clinical Counseling. I look forward to working with you.
