ELIZABETH GRAVALLES-ANDERSON, PSY.D
I am a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in providing treatment and psychological assessment services to children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety and depression, challenges related to inattention and hyperactivity, and who have a history of trauma. Additionally, I specialize in assisting parents to create positive changes in their children’s behaviors through tailored behavior management plans. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a therapeutic approach that is goal-oriented and focuses on developing positive coping skills. However, my approach is also integrative; I tailor my intervention to the needs of each family individually. Clients and families I have worked with describe me as warm, approachable, and relatable. I genuinely care about each of the families I serve, and work in every session to convey this. I view therapy as a collaboration between myself, clients, and their families, and I take this collaboration seriously when creating treatment goals and when determining our therapeutic progress. I am also well-versed in a large variety of assessment tools used for psychological and psychoeducational evaluation. I create a personalized assessment battery that provides information regarding diagnoses, accommodations and special education supports, treatment planning, and future goals. Information provided to families both verbally and in writing via my evaluations will be easy to understand and focused on how to best move forward in helping your child or adolescent. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Villanova University and obtained my doctorate from Loyola University of Maryland. I completed my clinical internship at Franciscan Hospital for Children in Boston, Massachusetts, and my postdoctoral fellowship at CARES Institute, a specialty clinic at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine that serves children, adolescents, and families who have experienced trauma. I continued working as a child psychologist at the CARES Institute after completing my training there. I also held a position as a licensed psychologist at Nemours/AI duPont Hospital for Children.
